Naomi Vincent was born in Totnes, Devon in 1975. However, much of her childhood was spent on the sea, during which time she sailed across the Atlantic, an experience which has left a lasting impression on her work.
In 1994 Naomi began her education as an artist, but was never far from the sea, choosing to study at the Norwich School of Art and Design in the East of England and at the Ecole des Beaux Arts, Rouen, France. After completing her arts training in 1997 she pursued a further qualifcation from the Lyme Regis International School of Boat Building in Dorset.
In 2001 Naomi established her studio in her childhood home of South Devon. Over the last three years she has exhibited widely in galleries and festivals, created works to commission and regularly gives talks relating to her work. She has also received awards and been selected for residencies including the prestigious Arts Council of England’s Year of the Artist scheme in 2000.
Most recently her work has been included in ’Elemental Insight‘, an exhibition commissioned by the UK Meteorological Service to celebrate their relocation to the south west of England. ‘A Winter Piece’ was purchased by the Met Office for permanent display in their flagship offices in Exeter.
